Back Yard Room Reveal | Diamond in Richmond
Our Diamond in Richmond house is well-positioned on our site, which makes the back yard feel really spacious. With a Westerly aspect, it’s great for the afternoon sun. Including some nice mature fruit trees which create a bit of shade.
Originally the backyard had plenty of concrete around, including foundations of where the laundry/shed originally was; and remains of a pool - creating an interesting “sandpit”. The exterior paint was in need of some TLC and a more modern colour scheme.
The plan was to create an outdoors space with a focus on entertaining and dining, that can be used year round. A big deck that will flow from the dining space, for entertaining outside. Covered with a pergola, so it feels like an extension of the dining room. A paved area for a more casual and relaxed outdoor space. And then a lawn - to make sure there is plenty of green and great for kids to play on.
